Patty and Steve

I loved to visit Helen and Sam - I probably was not even a teenager yet.  I liked the name Helen so much and memories bring a smile to my face -  my youngest daughter is Helen, and they share a birthday!  I have such great memories of visiting Sam and Helen in Rapid City, SD, and swimming in the pool where Patty was the lifeguard!  Such simple things gave us so much joy.  Both of your parents were so delightful, and we are left with fond memories of their lives.

Vernon (Aunt Helen's nephew) and Arlene Nelson, our parents, loved to camp out West for vacation, and along the way we always stopped in Rapid City to visit Helen and Sam.

It is so difficult to lose a Mom no matter how many years you have had her, sometimes you just want to have her for a little longer.
Thinking of you and your families.

One of the finest people I ever knew and a partner in life to one of the finest men. So sorry to hear of Aunt Helen's passing she lived a long and loving life and leaves a wonderful family to celebrate the times they all had together. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Patty and Steve and families,

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  I have so many great memories of Helen (and Sam) from our childhoods.  We can rejoice in the fact that Sam and Helen are together again after being separated for so many years.  They're probably planning the annual pork chop fry for some cold, windy day this winter.  You all have my prayers and sincere best wishes in this sad time.

I met Sam and Helen in the mid 70's when I married into the family. From getting to no them my respect was at the utmost. Helen was a Grand lady and it ran in her family as with her sister Agnes being of the same character. I am so blessed getting to Helen.

Steve, Nancy and family of Helen,

My sympathy to all of you during this time of loss. It is difficult to say good-bye to a mother who is always a central strength and so important to even us when we are grown. What I term the "sunset years" are not always so kind to our parents. Cherish memories of the good years and all the love you have shared.

Thinking of you and praying for you.
