So saddened! Cora was a very important person in my life! I met Cora at the Luck Inn, where I was staying while I looked for a home to buy....Cora worked in Housekeeping at the hotel. I was immediately drawn to here strong presence, peaceful demeanor and great attitude. We became good friends. Her daughter and Cora lived in a quaint house in Balsam Lake. Being a single mother, I know Cora had to be creative to Make ends meet! I offered my assistance but Cora was a proud and strong Woman! I admired that about her! We became close, and plans were made. A four year plan was made that would take her back to California for her daughters education. I gave her My 97 Toyota Tacoma and some cash. Miraculously They made it safely a long way over hair pin turns and steep mountains when the truck fell apart just far enough for them to be safe!! I didn't here from Cora for quite some time. She was being stocked by her ex and was a very protective mother. When Cora contacted me again, I was overjoyed!! We got together a couple of times... I really enjoyed her way of thinking and her deep concern for others! After meeting up with her again just last year, we spent a couple days together and she was adamant that she repay me! I was and never would have expected her to give my anything except her friendship....
But, Cora, being Cora, gave me her truck she was selling. At a time I was facing great difficulties. Look back on your life, and ask your self, whom has come forward to pay a debt, they really didn't owe??! Cora! You were an amazing person!! To Family and Friends, please contact me if there is anything I may help you with or you just want to talk.... My heart aches for your loss....and the World's loss!

I grew up with Cora as a neighbor, she was so kind and loving, in my earliest memories. I will miss seeing her at the Balsam Lake beach, something that was comfortating to me for some reason. I'll never forget her smile. My deepest condolences to her loved ones. I'm so sorry.

I have many fond memories of spending time with Cora at the beach and in Balsam Lake, especially this time of year when the sweet rocket blooms and the summer solstice is near. Words fail to express the sorrow felt. My deepest sympathy to her family.
