Mae Moore Obituary

Mae Moore, 89 of Centuria, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, Wisconsin.  Mae was born to Herbert and Lilly (McCurdy) Wulf on July 15, 1933, in Balsam Lake Township, Wisconsin.

Mae married Gordon Moore on December 15, 1951.  They had 4 children. They were residents of Centuria for 65 years.  Mae was the Centuria Village Clerk for more than 20 years.  As members of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, both Mae and Gordie volunteered countless hours of service to their church.

Mae took her job as Mom and Grandma very seriously and was always there to listen, hug and help in any way she could.  She loved having the family together for holidays and, even well into her 80’s, insisted on hosting family gatherings.  No one complained, of course, as she had made their home a cozy, welcoming place where you could always find a homemade chocolate chip cookie in the cookie jar and you left with a bag of them plus a jar of home-canned sweet pickles.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her three siblings: Robert Wulf, William Wulf, and Lu Johnson, her husband Gordie, and a great-grandson, Mckinley James Erickson.

Mae is survived by her children: Thomas (Linda) Moore, Dresser, Barbara (Jonn) Dinnies, Luck, Gregory (Heather) Moore, Centuria and Pamela (Mike) O’Ryan, Hugo, MN.  She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Sarah Moore, Scott (Anne) Moore, Matt Dinnies, Ben (Lisa) Dinnies, Sharla (Vincent Russo) Moore, Katelyn (Ryan) O’Gara, and Rebecca (Byron) Munoz.  Mae had 6 great-grandchildren: Lilly Moore, Amelia and Jensen Dinnies, Hattie O’Gara, Elijah Munoz, and Lennon Russo.  She was also blessed with numerous bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jean Wulf of Menomonie and Mary Johnson of Hudson, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care Mae received from the staff of the United Pioneer Home.

A private family service will be held for Mae.
