Kipp Peckman Obituary

Kipp Allen Peckman, 53, of Albert Lea, Minnesota and formerly of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, May 7, 2020 while on a business trip in Cleveland, OH.

Kipp was born on January 16, 1967 in St. Paul, Minnesota the oldest child of Roy E. and Mary S. (Ramberg) Peckman. The Peckman family moved to the Balsam Lake area in 1979. This did not deter him from walking around White Bear Lake every Thanksgiving with his Uncle Jim and Grandpa Ramberg and spending endless hours with his grandparents. Kipp was a graduate of Unity High School in 1985 where he enjoyed playing football and running track. Kipp was passionate about the Boy Scouts and continued to volunteer in his adulthood.

Kipp married Victoria Vadnais on April 26, 1991; they remained in the Balsam Lake area where they raised their four children. Kipp was a great father who was very involved in his children’s activities and enjoyed spending time with them (and his camping wives) camping, boating, fishing and snowmobiling in the mountains of Wyoming (his favorite place on earth). For several years he was an active member of the Balsam Lake Fire Department. Kipp has 10 grandchildren who he loved to spoil and share his love of birds and bugs with, making sure they all had a bird book to reference. He considered his grandchildren to be his greatest achievement. Kipp’s other great love was his fiancé Bobbi Engman. Bobbi and Kipp lived together in Albert Lea, MN. They enjoyed camping, traveling, concerts and bean bag league.

Kipp worked for Ink Tech where he was able to travel the world. When he wasn’t working in the printing business he maintained a Pest Control license where he could get his fix of bugs and rodents.

Kipp’s many endearing qualities included making up nicknames for each of his children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. His ability to know exactly how many people were in a room no matter how crowded it was, his love of the (free) continental breakfast and buffets, and the ability to burp the alphabet forwards and backwards. Kipp was willing to give the shirt off of his back and help anyone who needed it, including quietly adopting a family for Christmas. He loved the Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings. He found music in all genres that he loved, especially Elvis, Kiss and Conway Twitty.

Kipp loved life and his family beyond compare; he will be missed by many.

Kipp leaves to celebrate his memory: Fiancée, Bobbi Engman, Albert Lea, MN; mother, Mary S. Peckman, Balsam Lake, WI; his children: Katie Peckman (Brian Planque), Ironwood, MI, Karly (Royce) Jepsen, Luck, WI; Clay Peckman (Allyson Mahler) New Richmond, WI and Cole Peckman (Lizzy Hutchins), Albert Lea, MN; his grandchildren: Isabella “fat butt”, Alicen “Alicen Chains”, Charlotte “Caprice Sun”, Emmett “Martin”, Mikella “Jabba Jo”, Crosby “Lloyd”, Everett “Gerbert” and Lincoln “Eisenhower” and in addition two more on the way, his siblings: Scott (Natalie) Peckman, Osceola, WI; Angie (Tom) Fox, Balsam Lake, WI and Wayne (Janna) Peckman, Osceola, WI, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.  Kipp was preceded in death by his father Roy.

Kipp's family will gather to celebrate his life and greet family and friends at the Balsam Lake Pine Park Pavilion on Saturday,  June 6th, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.  Please check back for updates for any backup plans due to any inclement weather.
