Kelvin G. Carlson, 67, of Balsam Lake, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, with his loving family at his side.
Kelvin was born in Frederic, Wisconsin on March 19, 1955 to Edward and Helen Carlson. He graduated from Unity High School in 1973 then just after graduation joined the Peace Corps of the United States and was stationed in Ecuador, South America. While living in South America he traveled to Peru and got a job teaching English where he met the love of his life, Maria. Kelvin and Maria married in Lima, Peru in 1983.
In 1985 Kelvin joined the United States Army stationed in Germany, Louisiana, Panama and Florida. Later Kelvin joined his home state Wisconsin National Guard in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Kelvin was a great brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He made friends anywhere he went, loved to talk to people with his smile and always trusting friendship. Kelvin cherished his brothers Merlin, Rodger, Dennis, Bruce, David and his favorite, niece, nephew Chiristina and Nick.
Kelvin was a Jack-of-all-trades such as a carpenter, electrician, plumber, watch maker, auto mechanic and even a small toy repairer. He loved his collection of Saabs (Swedish cars) and more than likely you have seen him driving his cute little cars all around Polk County. But most of all Kelvin loved his family, Maria, Kenny, Michael, Carmen, Landon, Leo and Kelvin Jr. Spending time with his family was his number 1 priority. He will be missed dearly by everyone that knew and loved him.
Kelvin leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Maria Carlson, Balsam Lake, his sons, Kenny E. (Carmen) Carlson, Frederic, Michael Carlson, Mary Esther, FL, grandchildren, Landon, Leo, and Kelvin jr. Carlson, brothers, Dennis (Ursula) Carlson, Bruce Carlson, and David Carlson, niece, Christina Carlson, and nephew, Nicholas (Katy) Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Carlson, brothers, Roger and Merlin Carlson, a brother in infancy, Byron, and a nephew Darren Carlson.
