Imogene "Mitzi" C. Horsmann

“Mitzi” Imogene C. Horsmann 95, of Milltown, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center.

Mitzi Horsman (Evans) was born on April 6, 1927, in Lykens, WI to Jack and Josie Evans.  Mitzi had four brothers, Orville, Lyle, Clyde, and Maurice.  She married Gordon Horsmann on June 19, 1946, and they lived in Dresser, WI until 1962 and then moved to St. Croix Falls, WI where she worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, now called Good Samaritan Society and she retired in 1996 after 20 years of employment.

She and Gordon moved to Milltown where she continued to live until her death.  Mitzi was known for her love of baking pies, homemade buns, and cinnamon rolls, and she would share all her baked goods with friends, family, and her neighbors.  She was active in the Milltown Senior Center and up until recently was active in the nursing home auxiliary.  In her earlier years, her and Gordon were foster parents to many children.  She was loved and cherished by all who met her.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents, Josie and Jack Evans, her husband, Gordon, four brothers, her infant daughter, Judith, her daughter, Jacqueline Sylte and Brent Horsmann.  She is survived by her son, James (Joan) Horsmann, adopted son, Bill Horsmann, and grandchildren, Sarah, Trisha, Heidi, Kari, Bradley, Emily, and Britta, as well as many great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Mitzi will be held at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 PM followed by graveside services at the Balsam Lake Cemetery at 12:30 P.M.  Mitzi’s family will host a luncheon at the Milltown Community Center following the cemetery service.
