Gordon Moore Obituary

Gordon Arthur Moore Passed away peacefully at United Pioneer Home in Luck on March 26th, 2021. Gordie was born July 13, 1931 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. He married Mae Wulf on December 15, 1951. Gordie and Mae had 4 children.

 Gordie served in the Army as a member of the Honor Guard Platoon in Germany. After serving, he owned and operated Centuria Texaco for 17 years. Following owning the station, he was the plant manager at Alcan for 17 years. He then owned Centuria Transfer for 5 years until he retired and passed it on to his two sons.

Gordie and Mae were residents of Centuria for 65 years. During that time, he was a founding member of the Unity Area Lions Club and a member of the American Legion. He served on the Village board and held many leadership roles at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church.

 Gordie’s passions were family, bowling, collecting and showing antique cars, the Green Bay Packers, his church life, and music.

Gordie was preceded in death by his parents James and Katharine (Fountain) Moore, brothers James and Robert and infant sister Rachel and a great-grandson, Mckinley James Erickson. 

He is survived by wife Mae,of almost 70 years. Children: Thomas (Linda) Moore, Dresser, Barbara (Jonn) Dinnies, Luck, Gregory (Heather) Moore, Centura and Pamela (Mike) O’Ryan, Hugo, Mn. He was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, Sarah Moore, Scott (Anne) Moore, Matt (Jennika) Dinnies, Ben (Lisa) Dinnies, Sharla Moore, Katelyn (Ryan) O’Gara and Rebecca (Byron) Munoz. He also has 3 great-grandchildren Lilly Moore, Amelia, and Jensen Dinnies. He was also blessed with numerous bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has one living sister Mary Johnson from Hudson and a sister-in-law Jean Wulf from Menomonie and many nieces and nephews.

 Memorials to Unity Area Lions Club or Holy Trinity United Methodist Church are preferred. Special thanks to the United Pioneer Home staff for the compassionate care given to Gordie over the past 18 months.

 A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
