Shelly Helen Hermansen

February 23, 1952 — April 28, 2026

Luck, Wisconsin

Shelly Helen Hermansen, 74, of Luck, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at her home with her family at her side. Shelly was born on February 23, 1952, in Amery, Wisconsin, the daughter of Hilbert and Doris (Erickson) Hansen.

Shelly grew up on a farm in Fox Creek with her parents and siblings. She loved gymnastics and music. As a teen, she babysat neighbor kids and worked at Hunky Dory Resort. After school, we worked as a waitress at Wayne’s Café. She met her husband, Steve, at the 300 Club, and knew immediately that he was the one. Shelly and Steve began their life together in the Altas area, and then moved to the Hermansen family farm in 1981.

If you were to ask anyone who knew Shelly, they would say she had a heart of gold and the best hugs. Her smile and boisterous laugh was infectious. Mothering came naturally to Shelly, as did Grandmotherhood and great-grandmotherhood. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were her pride and joy. If she could not attend one of the grandkids' events, she would watch it online. Family was her lifeline.

Shelly was a woman of faith and was very dedicated to her church and church family. She served as an organist at Laketown Lutheran for over 40 years. She was a devoted wife who stood by her husband through all of his crazy ideas and projects. As a farm wife, she dedicated hours attending to the day-to-day operations. From feeding calves, milking cows, cleaning the barn, and throwing hay bales, Shelly did it all.

Shelly loved watching all sports and treated Minnesota high-school hockey tournaments like a religious holiday. She took great pride in her Green Bay Packers and loved bantering with Viking-loving sons-in-law throughout the football season. Shelly was also known as a great resource for the local chatter that came through the police scanner. Channel 15 was almost always in service!

Shelly was preceded by her parents, Hilbert “Bud” and Doris Hansen; husband, Steve Hermansen; infant daughter, Gwendolyn; son, Ross; sister, Linda Long; infant sister, Wanda Louise Hansen; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Long.

Shelly is survived by, her children, Jeffrey (Tina) Hermansen, Cushing, Gretchen (Tim) Frendt, Luck, and daughter, Audrey (Matthew) Mazzitello, Burnsville, MN, grandchildren, Justin, Lakeysha, Billy, Jade, Autumn, Haley, Andrew, Emily, Gabriella, and Margo, great-grandchildren, Alaina, Declan, Levi, Marley, Payton, Easton, Grayson, Raelynn, Wade, and Adeline, siblings, Steve Hansen, Sherry Doornink, Sheila Falb, Sam Hansen, and Barb Sipple, many nieces, nephew and other family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Shelly on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Georgetown Lutheran Church with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please join the family for lunch following the service in the church fellowship hall. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Steve later in the afternoon.
