Balsam Lake

Ronald B. Hansen, 78, of Balsam Lake, WI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 20, 2025. Born on October 16, 1947, in Amery, WI, to Marge and Merle Hansen, Ron was one of six children. Upon graduating from Unity High School, Ron joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was proud of his country and the opportunity to serve. When he came back, Ron began working at Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN, where he had a wonderful career for 38 years until his retirement.

Ron found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was hunting for the big buck through the woods during hunting season or fishing on the lake, he was most at home in nature. These outdoor pursuits were never solitary for him; they were shared adventures with family and friends who will forever treasure the stories, laughter, and lessons from their time together.

His presence could always be felt from the sidelines and bleachers, where he was his nephews' most enthusiastic supporter. His love for sports extended to his unwavering devotion to the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and game days were special occasions filled with spirited commentary.

Above all else, Ron will be remembered for his generous spirit and kind heart. His generosity knew no bounds, and his kindness touched every life he encountered.

Ron is survived by his siblings Janet (Bruce Fryer) Hansen, Gary (Cindy) Hansen, Doug (Jolene) Hansen, Kristine (Frank) Renno, sister-in-law Judy Hansen and his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Hansen; his mother, Marge Hansen; and his brother, Steve Hansen.

His memory will live on in every sunrise over the lake, every exciting play on the field, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

No services will be held per Ron's request.

Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
