Rachel (Gilson) Costello

Rachel (Gilson) Costello of St. Croix Falls, WI, formerly of Luck, WI died September 14th, 2015 at Good Samaritan, St. Croix Falls, WI.  She was 88 years old.  Rachel was born November 13th, 1926 to Walter and Mini Gilson of Willow River, MN.  After finishing school, she went to work at Mickey's Diner in St. Paul, MN, where she met her future husband, James Costello.  They were married at the St. Paul Cathedral on May 18th, 1946.  From this union, they had 10 children, 2 of which were stillborn. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved her family.

Daughters- Rita Arellano, Katherine (Larry) Coen, Colleen Simon, Mary (Drew) Nelson and Jean (Michael)  Kemmits,  Sons- James (Karen) Costello, Patrick (Carmen) Costello and Michael (Mary) Costello, Grandchildren- Christine, Jolene, Amelia, Raymond, Matthew, Rebecca, Michelle, Erin, Jamie, Jessica, Patrick Jr., Jenny, Chad, Orlan, Teresa, Andrew, Adam, Micheal Jr., Daniel, and Victoria.  Great Grandchildren- Rita, Miguel, Salena, Aaliyah, Jerry, Manual, Carlos, Jayden, Cody, Marcus, Michael, Matthew, Brett, Bailey, Brenna, Jayden, Asher, Ryann, Adeline,Emmett, Liam, Carter, Carson, Isiah, and Jackson.  Proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughter, and son.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, WI on Friday, September 18th.  Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Rachel will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery following the mass.  Rachel's family invites their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the cemetery service.
