Marjorie Emily Boettcher, age 95, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025. She had most recently been a resident of Sophie’s Manor in Centuria for over four years.
Marjorie was born to Emil and Elsie (Redlich) Adam at their farm home in Nye, Wisconsin, on January 15, 1930. She was baptised and confirmed at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nye. Following her graduation from Osceola High School in 1947, she lived in St. Paul for five years and worked for Blue Cross Insurance and the Burlington Northern Railroad. She also worked in Denver, Colorado, for one year for International Harvester.
On June 5, 1954, she married Theodore (Ted) Boettcher at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. For thirty-seven years, they worked together on their dairy/crop farm located along Highway 8 east of St. Croix Falls. In 1991, they retired from full-time farming and built a smaller home on a portion of the farm acreage. Through the years, Marge was very active in her church, St. John’s Lutheran, Centuria. She spent many hours in her gardens and flowerbeds, processed large quantities of produce for the winter, made many home-cooked meals for the family and hired help, and enjoyed sewing and embroidery work.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Boettcher and daughter, Rachel Boettcher; parents Emil and Elsie Adam; sisters - Myrna Adam and Lorena Adam; sister and brother-in-law – Harriet and Robert Lau, niece, Marianne (Lau) Nesta.
She is survived by her children Thomas and Timothy Boettcher, and Ruth (Peter) Stern; grandchildren Brandon (Kari) Henderson, Kyle (Sabrina) Boettcher, Holly (Brian) Hinrichs, Sarah (Jesse) Reinke, Kristina (Ben) Shult, and Michael (Addie) Stern; great grandchildren - Abby & Blake Henderson, Morgan, Kaylee and Zoey Boettcher, Grant and Lane Reinke, Ted, Evie, Emmett and Joanna Shult, and Elsie Stern. She is further survived by family friend, Debbie Johnson, her nieces and their families, as well as other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Centuria at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 6th, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. A noon meal will be served at St. John’s with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in East Farmington, Wisconsin, following the luncheon.
