Kathleen “Kathy” M. Harder, 85, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, July 20th, 2026, at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center with her family near her side. Kathy was born on May 27, 1941, in Henderson, Minnesota, the daughter of Arnold and Marie Katoval.

Kathy leaves to celebrate her memory, her children, Gary Harder (Tina Samuelson) of Red Wing, MN, Wendy Harder of Forest Lake, MN, grandchildren, Rachel (A.J.) Hill, Alex Harder, Kayla Gilbert, and Ashley Gilbert, two great grandchildren, Luna and Eve Hill, bonus child, Morgan and her children, siblings, Jerry (Karen) Kotval, Pat (Nathan) Goranson, Julie Kotval, Mike Kotval and Dan (Cindy) Kotval, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Marie, husband Don, and siblings, Linda, Dave, and Rich Kotval.

The Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake with a visitation prior to the Mass beginning at 10 am. Please join the family for a luncheon in the church parish hall following the service. She will be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Georgetown at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred the Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
