Irvin K. Alen, 93, of Balsam Lake, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 26th, 2015 at the Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Amery, Wisconsin. He was born on April 5 th , 1922 the son of Erick and Miranda Alen.
Irvin worked as a farmer in the Balsam Lake area.
Irvin spent two years serving his country in World War II in the United States Army as a Technician 5
th
Grade. After the war he came home and continued his work as a farmer
Irvin married Eunice Isaacson on October 10, 1953 at Sturgeon Bay Baptist Church.
Irvin was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Irvin was a lifetime member of East Balsam Baptist Church. In the past he has served as usher and the board of Trustees.
Irvin was preceded in death by: his wife, Eunice Alen; daughter, Lois Hemingway; granddaughter, Sanay Hemingway; brother, Paul Alen.
Irvin leaves to celebrate his memory: son, Keith Alen and his wife Marla Wheeler-Alen, Valley Center, CA; grandchildren, Charity (Rick) Weldt, Mark (Amy) Alen, Rachel (Matt) Larson, Mike (Katie) Alen, Alyssa (Jacob) Udvig and Ryan Hemingway, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the East Balsam Baptist Church with Pastor Gabe Brennan officiating. Visitation will be at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home on Wednesday April 29, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and then again at the East Balsam Baptist Church on Thursday April 30, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Irvin will be laid to rest at the Bunyan Union Cemetery following the service. Casket Bearers will be Irvin’s family. The family wishes to invite their guest to join them for fellowship and lunch at the church following the cemetery service.
