Harold C. Roettger, 94, of Centuria, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis with his family at his side.  Harold was born on February 4, 1920 in Stillwater, Minnesota the son of Charles & Ida (Rosenow) Roettger.

Harold was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping.  In his retirement years, he was well known for his vegetable garden which produced bushels of tomatoes, bushels of cucumbers, green beans, carrots, potatoes, sweet corn and squash.  He had REALLY GOOD squash.  He had many customers who would stop and visit and buy his veggies.

Harold leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Laura D. Roettger, Centuria, WI; children: Clifford (Judy) Roettger, Cameron, WI; Ronald Roettger, Centuria, WI; Robert (Bonnie) Roettger, Centuria, WI, Ruth Trumble, Centuria, WI and Jeanne Roettger, Centuria, WI, 14 grandchildren: Laura R. Roettger, Michelle Roettger,  Ryan Roettger, David Roettger, Robert J. Roettger, Jeremy Roettger, Terri Sixta, Amy Kunkle, Jonathan Trumble, Michael Trumble, Steven Trumble, David Trumble Jr., Angie Larson and Justine Sine, sister-in-law, Gladys Derosier, many great grandchildren,  many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida Roettger, half brother, Wesley Peterson, half sister, Gladys (Lawrence) Swanson and brother, Walter (Luella) Roettger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.  Harold’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.  The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship following the service.

Following the lunch, Harold will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin with full military honors.  Casketbearers will be Jonathan Trumble, Michael Trumble, Steven Trumble, Robert J. Roettger, Jeremy Roettger, Ryan Roettger and David Trumble Jr.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
