Edward "Sonny" A. Rud
March 26, 1932 — June 24, 2015
Edward A. “Sonny” Rud, 83, of Luck, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Amery Regional Medical Center. Sonny was born on March 26, 1932 in St. Croix County, Wisconsin the son of Alvin and Eva (Younker) Rud.
Sonny farmed in St. Croix County for years, worked at the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Red Wing, Minnesota and also had worked construction in the Dakotas. After he retired he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cribbage, his dogs, telling jokes and spending time with his family and friends.
Sonny leaves to celebrate his memory: son, Allan (Colleen) Rud, Siren, WI, grandchildren: Eric (Connie) Rud, Milltown, Brent (Audrey) Rud, Grantsburg, Nicholas (Kelly) Rud, New Richmond, Candi (Danny) Erickson, Cottage Grove, MN, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters, Gladys, Marlene, VI and Rosie, brother Merlin and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Irene and a sister, Betty Shawano.
Memorial services for Sonny will be held on Wednesday, July 8 th at 11:00 A.M. at Luck Lutheran Church with Pastor Ralph Thompson officiating. Sonny’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Sonny will be laid to rest alongside his wife Irene at the Luck Village Cemetery following the service. The family invites their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the cemetery service.
