Dorothy passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Riverbend Senior Assisted Living in Amery, WI, where she has resided for a little over 2 years. She took up residence there after moving from St. Croix Falls with her late husband Walden A. Danielson. She was born Dorothy M. Terrell on June 16, 1918 in Lake Stevens, WA.
Dorothy met Walden in Fairbanks, AK , and they married on January 4, 1958. The two moved to Minneapolis, MN, with a short stay in Indianapolis, IN, and then to Balsam Lake, WI, upon retirement. She enjoyed playing cards and games of all sorts, and was quite talented with her many handicrafts, crochet, knitting and fine needlework. She was a longtime member of the Friendship Club in Centuria, and especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Dorothy was blessed with a large, loving family and wonderful friends throughout her long life. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and giving person, thankful for the people and simple joys in her life.
Dorothy leaves to celebrate her memory, her daughter, Dixie Lee Love, and son-in-law Don E. Love; 5 grandchildren, Debbie Henson, Don Love, Terri Love, Sandy Buker, Lori Furchner , and their spouses; 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Fristad Lutheran Church, Centuria, WI. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at church. The family wishes to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church hall following the Memorial Service. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Fristad Cemetery in the spring.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
