Darlene Faye Brown

Darlene Faye Brown, age 87, a longtime resident of over 50 years of Edina, MN, passed away on August 13th, 2025.

Darlene was born on March 20, 1938, in Manitowoc, WI, the 2nd daughter of Milton and Elaine Kornely. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1956. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Dayton's Department Store in an office for one of the Daytons until her pregnancy would not allow her to continue. After the birth of her son, she was a traditional, stellar stay-at-home Mom for many years. In the 70's she helped out her mother-in-law by working in the office of her employment agency, Upper Midwest Employment Services. When her husband became disabled by illness in the 80s. She took on a career later in life at Kemper Insurance as a policy writer and excelled. She was a loving, faithful, wife and an incredible loving mother. Her son was blessed with an abundance of the wealth of Heaven and love. She will be greatly missed.

A burial and short committal service will be held on Thursday, August 21, at 1:30 PM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Assembly Area 3.  Please arrive no later than 1:15. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert Brown.
