Cheryl “Carmel” Adams, 56, of Lindstrom, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home in Lindstrom unexpectedly. Carmel was born on January 28, 1958 in Carmel, CA.
Carmel was raised in Monterey, California and moved to Cairo, IL as a youth. She graduated from Cairo High School and then attended Paducah Technical College where she graduated with a degree in Auto Mechanics. After graduating she moved to St. Paul where she worked as an Auto Mechanic and Parts Manager for many years. She and Lisa made their home in Lindstrom, Minnesota for many years.
Carmel enjoyed fishing, camping and barbequing. She loved Halloween; she loved animals and loved the Green Bay Packers. She had a great sense of humor and was an outstanding story teller and with her southern accent it made the stories even better. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Carmel sadly passed away at the same time as her loving partner, Lisa Kantorowicz and their faithful dog Nugget. She is preceded in death by her step-father, Andrew Engebretson, her siblings, Mark Richardson, Rebecca Richardson and a sister, Mary Rachel Sherrill in infancy.
Carmel leaves to celebrate her memory: her mother, Rachel Engebretson, Balsam Lake, WI; siblings; Dale (Mary Ann) Sherrill, Lindenhurst, IL; Daniel (April) Richardson, St. Paul, MN and Margaret Engebretson, Balsam Lake, WI, nephews, Christopher Sherrill, Thomas Richardson and Jeb Richardson and her niece, Maxine Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Pastor Diane Norstad will officiate and music will be provided by Dorene Hendrickson. Carmel’s family will greet visitors at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
