Barb (Durow) Christensen

Barb Christensen, 90, of Centuria, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center.  Barb was born on October 12, 1932, in Centuria, Wisconsin, the daughter of Norman and Myrtle Durow.

Barb married Raymond Lee Christensen on April 10, 1954, in Centuria, Wisconsin at St. John’s Lutheran Church and to this union, 3 children were born.  Ray and Barb lived in Minnesota in their early years where Barb worked at Rosemount Engineering.  The couple later moved to Centuria in 1978 where Barb worked at Polk-Burnett Electric.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

She leaves to celebrate her memory, daughters, Nancy Williams, Centuria, Connie Stone, Largo, FL; daughter-in-law, Dagmar Christensen, St. Paul, MN; granddaughter, Christine (Jeffrey) Affleck, Calgary, Canada, great grandchildren, Alexandra and Andi Affleck and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, her son Glen, and other family.

The funeral service for Barb will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Centuria at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Please join the family for lunch in the church basement following the funeral.

She will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at a later date.
