Josephine E. Bille Obituary

Josephine “Jo” E. Bille, 89, of Luck, Wisconsin died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 24th 2019 at the United Pioneer Home.

She was born to Bert and Goldie (McDonald) Dorry in Centuria, Wisconsin on December 29th, 1929.  She was baptized at the Centuria Methodist Church and in 1956 was confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Jo graduated from Centuria High School in 1947.  She then entered Mounds-Midway School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1951.  

She was united in marriage to Curtis A. Bille on September 22nd, 1951. They had known each other since 1st grade.  To this union four children were born.

Jo continued her nursing profession part time as she followed her husband during his 21 year career in the Air Force.  Upon returning to the Luck area in 1970, she continued her nursing career at the United Pioneer Home for 21 years.  She was a Sunday school teacher and was very active in the Luck Lutheran church during those years.  

In 1987 they moved to Milltown where she became a member of the Milltown Lutheran church and was very a very active member.  She coordinated the Milltown Red Cross blood mobile for many years.  She took pride as the coordinator and did an amazing job. It was very hard for her to give up this job when the time came to turn it over to someone else.

In between all the volunteering Jo did, she found time to enjoy golfing, skiing and fishing. She and Curt enjoyed many years wintering in Arizona until 2006. Upon returning back to Luck full time, Jo continued her love of sewing and spent hours making quilts for the church. Jo spent her final 31/2 years at both the Lawson Manor and United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI where she was very loved by all the amazing staff that took care of her. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, parents, stepfather Fremont Schnur, sister Juneal Nelson & husband Glen,  brother Albert Dorry and wife Margaret, 7 step siblings, Sister in law Judy Bille & daughter in law Joan Bille.

She is survived by her children Dean (Lisa) Bille, of Land O Lakes, FL; John (Sue Ellen) Bille, of Cave Junction, OR; Carol (Jim) Giller, of Luck, WI; and Darla (Alan) Kerzman,  of Eden Valley, MN.  Seven grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Jo will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 1 PM at the Luck Lutheran Church.  Jo’s family will greet visitors beginning at 12 Noon.  Please join the family for continued fellowship in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Jo will be laid to rest at the Milltown Cemetery in the spring.
