Eugene “Gene” M. Ludack, 85 of Centuria, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the BeeHive Homes in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Gene was born on August 22, 1934 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Matthew and Bertha Ludack. After graduating from Northland College he moved to Siren, WI to begin his teaching career. Gene married Dorothy Ludack on August 2, 1958, a few years later they moved to Centuria, WI when Gene began teaching math and physics at Unity High School in Balsam Lake, he taught at Unity until his retirement in 1993. Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman, he and Dorothy enjoyed camping, traveling and boating, especially around the Apostle Islands.
Gene leaves to celebrate his memory: son, Mark (Patricia) Ludack, Oakdale, MN; daughters, Lynn Henigin, White Bear Lake, MN; Kathryn Ludack (David Gee) Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren: Erin (Shane) Schultz, Matthew Ludack, Ashley Ludack, Stephanie Henigin, Justin Henigin, Tyler (Thy) Breault, Ron (Marti) Brandt; great grandchildren: Olin Schultz, Rory Schultz, Fin Brandt; brother-in-law, Ed Ziolkowski, sisters-in-law: LaNore Ziolkowski and Marge McManus, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents, brother and sisters Harold, Lois, Beatrice and Elaine and son-in-law, Lou Henigin.

A Memorial Mass for Gene will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake. Gene’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. Gene will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Centuria in the spring. Please join the family for lunch and continued fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.
