Duane "Buttons" Williford Gustafson

Duane “Buttons” W. Gustafson, 68, of Frederic, Wisconsin passed away on October 22, 2017.

Duane was born in Frederic, Wisconsin on October 29th, 1948.  He graduated from Frederic High School and continued on to receive an Associate Degree in Accounting at Rice Lake Technical College.

Duane served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a medic from 1969 to 1970.  He worked at Cargill in Accounting for five years.  After Cargill moved to Minnetonka, he took a job at the University of Minnesota where his sister Carole worked.  He worked at the University of Minnesota for 32 years until his retirement in 2008.

Duane is survived by his brothers, David Gustafson, Daniel Gustafson; his sister and brother-in-law, Dianne Schroeder and David; his sister-in-law, Lois Gustafson; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. 

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, John and Adeline Gustafson; his brothers, Jack Gustafson, Mark Gustafson; his sister Carole Conlon, his brother-in-law, Dan Conlon; his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Gustafson, Judith Gustafson; and his nephew, Daniel Conlon.

 The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday October 28, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church of Bone Lake.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery with military honors accorded.  Please join the family for a luncheon and continued fellowship after the burial in the church hall.
