Judy: Cynthia and I have no words to express our grief at finding that Tom has gone to the Lord. For me, it was a shock to have found this out. All I was doing was searching his name to have a discussion about current events as we often did when I was employed at McGraw-Hill.

Cynthia and I recall the graciousness with which you and Tom hosted us when we visited you and experienced ‘the locks’...

I will remember Tom as one who always looked out to help me get educated, not only in the ways of Corporate America, but also in the ways of humanity.

One day he recommended I read George Lakoff’s ‘Fire, Wonen, and Dangerous Things., the title struck a comedic note in me. But I read it anyway: not an ease read, but I got through it.

And lo and behold several years later, when I was working on the McGraw-Hill’s Chairman’s special project to custom generate McGraw-Hill information, from various international sources, electronically, to hardcopy output, I mentioned to one of our partnership vendors that George Lakoff had written about the object oriented nature of the process we were working on, the vendor said, ‘our object oriented software is up to Lakoff’s chapter 11 in implementation.’!!

Needless to say, that ceiled my credibility with the Chairman on that project...

I really miss Tom’s humanity....

God Bless you and your family.
