James Dominic Carney, 78, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.  James was born on December 3, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of James Sylvester and Dorothy Agnes (Marxon) Carney.

 

James served his country in the United States Navy from January 1957 - August 1962.  He married Susan Dombrock on May 18, 1963.  He was a jack of all trades; worked in construction, brick laying, all forms of carpentry, they owned the Brick School Bakery/Cafe in Mikana, Wisconsin at one time and owned and operated a bus transportation for Anderson workers.

James enjoyed helping family and friends in any capacity, antique firearms and reading about antique firearms, he enjoyed reading western novels, garage sales and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

James leaves to celebrate his memory: his loving wife, Susan of St. Croix Falls, WI; son, Jason "Jay"  (Rachel) Carney, Cushing, WI; daughter, Melinda (Robert) Wells, Dresser, WI; grandchildren: Zoey (Justin) McKenzie, Clay Carney, Andy (Kelley) Wells, Peter (Caitlin) Wells, Rebecca (Joseph) Biebert, Daniel (Miranda) Wells and Bethany Wells, great grandchildren, Lane, Luke, Ike, Gabe, Liam, Sylas, Ella, Elliott and Vienna, his brothers, Allen(Kathleen) Carney and Brian (Shelly) Carney and many other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Carney, his In-Laws, Ralph "Ike" and Irean Dombrock and an infant brother, Martin Carney.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethesda Lutheran Church/Sand Lake 1947 110th Avenue, Dresser, Wisconsin.  The family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 2:00 P.M.

James will be laid to rest at the Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery/Sand Lake following the service with military honors.  The family invites you back to the church for fellowship and refreshments following the cemetery services.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
