Donald D. Smith

Donald D. Smith, 71, of St. Croix Falls/Eureka Township passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Amery Regional Hospital with his family at his side.  Don was born on October 25, 1945 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Clifton and Evelyn (Thayer) Smith.

Don was a very active man most of his life. He was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on the river camping and fishing. Don also enjoyed Bowling, Gardening and cooking outside. Don religiously spent part of his day reading his bible, listening to Christian music and watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on tv.

Don worked as a mechanic most of his life. He owned Smitty’s Auto Repair in Centuria, WI for 13 years. He also did a lot of work for many of the local cemeteries for 20+ years. Later in his working years he worked in the plumbing and heating industry. Don also spent some time working in Auto Sales.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 9th, 2017 beginning at 3:00 P.M. with a Open Mic ~ Remembrance of Don at 3:30 P.M.  Anyone that wishes to share memories of Don may do so at that time.  This Celebration will be held at the St. Croix American Legion Post 143, on 807 Pine Street, St. Croix Falls, WI  54024.   715-483-1485

Don leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Evelyn Smith, St. Croix Falls, WI; children: David (Janalee) Smith, Columbia, SC; Michelle (Scott) Nesbit, East Bethel, MN; Jennifer (David) Lackner, Dresser, WI and Jordan (Ashley) Cross, St. Croix Falls, WI; grandchildren: Rayah Smith, Elliana Smith, Zacharia Smith, Andrew Lackner, Abbigail Lackner, Carson Cross, Emra Cross, Ayla Cross, Paisley Cross and Paxton Cross, brothers and sisters: Darlene Barnes, Donna Mae Smith, Paul Smith, Rose Peterson, Isabell Mullins, Ruth Nutt, Lois Lott and Les Smith and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Evelyn and his brother Daniel Smith.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
